Steinbeck’s 1938 story collection, The Long Valley, includes often-anthologized tales of a young boy, Jody, growing up in a West that is no longer a frontier. In 1937, Steinbeck wrote Of Mice and Men about two drifters who dreamed of owning their own ranch. Tortilla Flat was about people in a small town in northern California whose exploits mirrored those of the knights of King Arthur, while In Dubious Battle focused on a migrant fruit pickers’ strike. His first literary successes were his 1935 novel, Tortilla Flat, followed the next year by In Dubious Battle. He lived in New York for a short while and attempted to earn money from his writing. The story of their journey to California to find work as agricultural laborers, a journey that they made along the often bleak Highway 66, helped secure Steinbeck’s place in American literature.īorn in the Salinas Valley of California, Steinbeck attended Stanford University for a time and then spent a number of years traveling and studying on his own, while developing his craft as a writer. John Steinbeck’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, The Grapes of Wrath, published in 1939, depicts the plight of the Joads, a family of Oklahoma sharecropper farmers who were driven off the land they worked by the Dust Bowl of the 1930s. Kenner was inspired by an old spiritual that was sung in the South named "Children Go Where I Send Thee." It is a song where the narrator enumerates all the places where he can "send thee:" "Children go where I send thee, how shall I send thee. The song made it into the top ten nationally. In 1961 he had written and recorded I Like It Like That, Part 1. Following the lead of Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Screamin' Jay Hawkins and others who had come before him, Kenner was a hard-working, frenetic singer, songwriter and performer. In 1962 songwriter/performer Chris Kenner decided to write his own dance song. Following the success of Chubby Checker's The Twist, which had reached the number one spot in the charts on two different occasions, there was a proliferation of dance songs: the Locomotion, the Pony, the Mashed Potatoes and others. In the early 60's dance songs were very popular in rock-and-roll. Land Of 1000 Dances is a song from the Sixties that has an interesting history and has been recorded by a variety of different artists. This world will not be open to survival, but will have quests, main dungeons, bosses, and even a small Zelda storyline branching all 3 Timelines. I, myself, am well versed in a magical little program called World Painter which allows for custom built terrains to be made, and will be creating my own version of Hyrule. While their dungeons may not be used, they are still there for exploration, PvP and maybe even hold some secrets. Ocarina, Twilight, Termina from Majora's Mask, the Great Ocean, all will be included and open for exploration. As there are MANY to choose from, all versions of Hyrule available for public use will be download and placed into the server, with proper credits of course. Each boss will drop plenty of Rupees, materials, and possibly even a weapon or armor piece!Ī Zelda game/map/server cannot be Zelda without an overworld, or in most cases, Hyrule. Each dungeon would have a unique theme song, mini-boss and boss, as well as plenty of combat and puzzles to bring to life a true Zelda atmosphere.īoss rushes are fun, and Zelda has PLENTY to choose from! Why not put them all in? From Ghoma to Gleeok to Ganondorf and Yuga! Let's throw in some Heroes too! Hero of Time, Twilight and Wind! A Boss rush would almost need to be a must have, so that would without a doubt be added in. Dungeons would utilize items from PREVIOUS dungeons as well as that dungeon's own item, which would be removed from a player's inventory if the dungeon was not completed. Some may be recreations of such timeless dungeons like the Forest Temple from OoT. There would be themes of course, such as a forest and volcanoes and water and wind. Players would have 1 hour to traverse the dungeon and defeat the boss, or else they will be sent to the start and the Dungeon resets itself. As this would be a multiplayer server, it is encouraged, but not required, for them to be taken on in pairs or groups. Since the modded dungeons come without puzzles, some custom built Temples, Castles, and basic dungeons would need to be made. The modpack is built to feel like Breath of The Wild with some classic Zelda attacks such as an upgradable Spin Attack, sword beams (When at full HP of course), and Z-Targeting, as well as starting off with only 3 Hearts, and plenty of dungeons to encounter with their own themes! Enviromine (Thirst and hardcore gravity disabled, however temperature system remains) MineFantasy 2 (Dragons, minotaurs, forging, and stamina) Mine And Blade: Battlegear 2 (For carrying shields and duel wielding) Well, I already have a great modpack built that adds in dungeons (sadly not Zelda dungeons, only crawler style dungeons but it works for now). I already have an idea of how to make this server work.įor a server to be modded, it requires mods. But I know for a fact I am no the only one out there that wants a Modded Zelda server for Minecraft. I run a server myself, it isn't easy, and it sure as heck is expensive. There are a few Zelda Mods, one of which even recreates Zelda combat and puzzle mechanics (loving that hookshot), and plenty of mods have been placed alongside this one to make great modpacks, but no one has actually made USE of it for a server. There are a few Zelda servers that offer. So, I've been browsing countless pages of modpacks and servers for Minecraft, and not once, not once, did I see a modded Zelda server. |
